God's interruption of my vegan thought debate

Last night my wife and I watched "Forks Over Knives" on Netflix. It's a film that documents and supports the claim that a plant-based diet is the best path towards global health, reducing the instances of cancer and heart-related diseases, and helping your libido in old age (no kidding). A few months ago we had watched "Food, Inc." which shows how our food is made, and all the politics and money that go into shaping what we buy and eat - especially as Americans, and especially as Southern Americans (of which I proudly belong)(begin playing Dixie...)

So needless to say, my wife and I have been concerned about our diet - why we eat what we eat, where our food comes from, and what we could be doing to improve what we put into these temples God gave us. However, when presented with the possibility in the near future of adopting a (mostly) vegan diet, I'm not too excited. But that seems to be the first hurdle to jump - the frame of mind that we've had all our lives.

So as I've been dialoguing internally over this matter today, I began to think, "I appreciate all the research they cited in the film, but is it truly God's design for man? I mean, NO meat? Seriously?" And I thought to myself, "So if we were meant to just be herbivores, why do we still have incisors?" And immediately, God spoke to me (not audibly. That would've freaked the other guy out in the bathroom) and said, "Well, you still have nipples, don't you? Doesn't mean you have to use them."

Good point. So it remains to be seen how this will pan out, but hopefully God will continue to lead, and tell me humorous things like that along the way.

(You might be asking yourself, "How did you know that was God speaking?" It's simple. I don't think that fast. Ever.)
